Article: The End of the Classic Version of Windows Mobile (AKA the PDA)

Did you know that there used to be a version of Windows Mobile called Classic Edition? The Classic Edition was really the PDA version of Windows Mobile which included Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but did not include cellular capabilities.

This article documents where Windows Mobile came from and the end of the availablility of Windows Mobile Classic Edition.

(Includes definitions of Windows Mobile Professional, Classic and Standard for reference).

Update: Windows Mobile Device Center Services

Added the WMDC Start Services batch file to start all required services for WMDC. If after you run this batch file allows you to sync, you need to review the services above and ensure that they are set to Automatic.
