Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is a way to connect multiple computers to a network. It used the 2.4 GHz spectrum and does not require a FCC license to install. Most Wi-Fi networks use a centralized access point to connect the wireless clients to a wired network. Wi-Fi also uses 11 channels to transmit and receive data on. Each separate Wi-Fi network can be identified using a unique SSID which the user can choose when connecting to the network. Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone devices can use Wi-Fi to connect to a network including the internet.
