Introduction

Did you know that none of the Pocket PCs or Handheld PCs have a built-in SmartMedia slots?  So if you own an Olympus or other digital camera or other device that uses SmartMedia, you can still access information with your Pocket PC or Handheld PC. To do this you need a CompactFlash or PC Card adapter.

Adapters are the way to go

Pretec offers a type II CompactFlash adapter, however it only works with SmartMedia cards up to 32 MB in size. If you purchase a PC Card adapter you can use larger SmartMedia cards with your Pocket PC or Handheld PC. You can get the Olympus PC Card adapter for Smart Media at Amazon.com. Basically the adapter makes the SmartMedia compatible with the Pocket PC or Handheld PC. The data shows up in \Storage Card for the Pocket PC and \PC Card in the Handheld PC.

Conclusion

So now you're all set to access pictures or other information on SmartMedia cards using your Pocket PC or Handheld PC.
