Services:
The following services are required to connect via Windows Mobile Device Center. All of these services should be set to Automatic in order for WMDC to work correctly. If these services are not running then you will not be able to sync with WMDC.

| COM+ Event System | Supports System Event Notification Service (SENS) which provides automatic distribution of events to subscribing Component Object Module COM components. |
| DCOM Server Process Launcher | Provides launch functionality for DCOM services. |
| DHCP Client | Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol - This service is required to allow Vista to accept the IP address of a Windows Mobile device using RNDIS. |
| Windows Mobile 2003-baased device connectivity | Provides connectivity for Windows Mobile 2003-based devices. |
| Windows Mobile based device connectivity | Provides remote command and control to Windows Mobile-based devices. |
| Remote Procedure Call (RPC) | Remote Procedure Call |
| UPnP Device Host | Allows UPnP devices to be hosted on this computer. - This service detects when the Windows Mobile device is plugged into a USB port. |
